Outpacing Melanoma 5K Run/ Walk & Dot-to-Dot Kid Trot
Gather your friends and family to join the 6th Annual Outpacing Melanoma 5K at Corporate Woods Office Park! The annual event supports the Richard A. Klover Melanoma Fund which benefits The University of Kansas Cancer Center and our local community.
In 2010, Richard Klover suddenly and unexpectedly passed away from melanoma at 46. It is the most deadly form of skin cancer. Outpacing Melanoma is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to fund research and increase public awareness by promoting early detection, screening, and prevention in the fight against melanoma.
The 5K course is USATF certified, and medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age division. Plaques are given to the overall male and female and overall masters male and female. The Dot-to-Dot Kid Trot is for children ages 10 and under.
Each participant receives a ribbon, goody bag and t-shirt. Children’s entertainment will include a balloon artist and the Pink Starlets from Shear Madness! For registration and additional event details, please visit their website.

KC Express Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk for Women
The annual Mother’s Day 5K is owned, operated, and delivered by KC Express, a non-profit running and walking club for women! All sponsorships and contributions to KC Express are used to fund and further their mission to inform, motivate, and inspire women to exercise for better health.
Every participant will receive a limited edition 2017 race t-shirt, a finisher’s charm, free photos, and of course, a sense of accomplishment, camaraderie, and shared memories! Learn more about KC Express, including registration and race details by visiting their website.

Jazz in the Woods
For the 28th year, music lovers will converge on the lawn at Corporate Woods for the Jazz in the Woods music festival, organized by the Overland Park South Rotary! The family-friendly, two-day event highlights the best Kansas City has to offer in live music, food, and entertainment, all while supporting local children’s charities.
As part of the Rotary club’s “Service Above Self” motto, 100% of net proceeds from this year’s event will go to benefit Growing Futures Early Education Center, Sunflower House and the Future of Hope Fund. Since the event’s inception, it has contributed more than $1,500,000 to charities in the greater Kansas City area!

CASA SuperHero 5K
Bring out your inner Superman (or woman) and take part in the 4th Annual CASA SuperHero 5K Run/Walk benefitting abused and neglected children in Kansas City. Combining the efforts of CASA in Johnson, Wyandotte, and Jackson counties, the chip-timed 5K run/walk features a fun-run for kids, family-friendly activities, and more!
Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite superhero costume and compete in four categories: best costume, most creative, most original, and best team/group.
5K participants receive a t-shirt, race bag, and finisher medal. Kids’ Fun Run participants receive a finisher medal, superhero cape, and goody bag. A Kids Activity Zone will also be available with many family-friendly activities and food and beverages will be available throughout the event. Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular
There’s no better way to celebrate the 4th of July in Johnson County than by watching the awesome fireworks display at Corporate Woods office park! Each year, thousands of people attend the Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular sponsored by the Overland Park Rotary, Corporate Woods and the City of Overland Park.
The free event will have food and drink vendors on-site, plenty of space on the lawn for blankets and chairs, and 4th of July fun for your entire family! American Cancer Society’s Birthday Bash 5K
You’re invited to help blow out the candles at the American Cancer Society’s second annual Birthday Bash 5k! Grab your party hat, noisemakers, tennis shoes and help us celebrate lives saved from cancer and honor those who fought it.
This run/walk race is family-friendly / stroller-friendly and will be chip-timed. All race registrants receive a T-shirt (if registered by June 15, 2017) and a finishers medal at the end of the race. Please visit the event’s website for race information and registration.

Diva Dash 5K & Lil’ Princess Girls Run KC
The Diva Dash 5K & Lil’ Princess Fun Run is a great way to celebrate being a woman (or a girl)! Proceeds from the event support Girls on the Run, a non-profit after-school program for girls in grades 3-8 that addresses healthy physical, emotional, mental, and social development and well-being.
The 5K race is chip-timed and features food, drinks, and music. The Lil’ Princesses Race (girls 8 and under) will run 50-200 yards based on age, and will receive a tiara at the finish line! Please visit the Diva Dash’s website for event details and registration.

Head for the Cure Foundation 5K
The Head for the Cure Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and funding for research in the fight against brain cancer. The organization works to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters while celebrating their courage, spirit, and energy.
The first Head for the Cure 5K was held in Kansas City in 2003. Since then, more than 100,000 people have joined in to defeat brain cancer… step by step! In addition, over 30,000 donors have supported the 5K participants, raising more than $8.3 million for brain cancer research.
The Head for the Cure 5K event is a day of celebration where those diagnosed with brain cancer are honored and celebrated by their friends and families, and those who have lost their battles are remembered.
