Many of the best school districts in the nation surround Corporate Woods. But what happens if your child needs extra academic support? Huntington Learning Center in the Shops at Corporate Woods offers just that.
Huntington Learning Center was founded in 1977 by Dr. Raymond and Eileen Huntington. Since that time, the center has expanded to over 200 locations across the United States. Their mission is to give students an academic boost, improve confidence, and prepare them for their future.
“When students first come in, they usually aren’t excited about the prospect of more schooling,” said owner Joe Lieberman. “We get to know each student on a 1-on-1 basis so they don’t feel like they are at school. This helps them quickly feel more comfortable.”
Students first complete a full-academic evaluation which enables the staff to develop a customized program based on each child’s needs. Lieberman said this individualized approach sets Huntington Learning Center apart from other tutoring centers.
“We have a proven track record of helping young people grow as both students and individuals,” said Lieberman. “Our staff of certified teachers is excellent, and everyone works to help each student succeed in the areas they are struggling.”
Lieberman and his staff collaborate with nearby schools and districts and find ways to team up to help students through the learning process.
“We meet with teachers, counselors, and principals on behalf of our students and parents to make sure we are all on the same page,” said Lieberman. “Our goal is to serve our students, and we want to do everything we can to provide the best education resources available.”
Lieberman says their location in the Shoppes at Corporate Woods is the perfect place for the center to grow.
“Corporate Woods is in a unique, family-friendly location in the heart of Johnson County,” said Lieberman. “We participate in school functions and events around us, and it is an wonderful partnership for us.”
Lieberman is excited about helping even more students as the new school year approaches.
“We are seeing many students discover, often for the first time, what it actually means to learn,” said Lieberman. “It is exciting to help students excel, gain confidence, and motivation to learn.”
